Israel's two large seaports on the Mediterranean are Ashdod port and Haifa port both are situated close to the busiest shipping route in the world - from and to the Suez Canal. Ashdod Port is Proximity to the center and south of the country, with easy access to transport and Haifa Port is located in a natural, safe bay which allows unobstructed and unhindered entry and exit for vessels throughout the year. The Port of Eilat is the only Israeli port on the Red Sea, located at the northern tip of the Gulf of Aqaba is today mainly used for trading with Far East countries. It allows Israeli shipping to reach the Indian Ocean without having to sail through the Suez Canals
